Gianni Moscatelli dining chairs for Formanova, faux-fur, Italy, 1968, set of twelve.
Designed by Gianni Moscatelli for Formanova in 1968, this set of twelve dining chairs is offered in a faithful contemporary production that preserves the form and spirit of the original model. The design is built on clean, functional lines, with two lateral connecting elements bridging the lower iron structure and the backrest — a detail that resolves a structural necessity into something considered and precise. The four-leg iron frame is finished with a patinated effect; the seats are upholstered in faux fur.
Moscatelli founded Formanova in 1930 in Meda, at the center of Brianza’s furniture-making tradition, developing a body of work defined by restraint and formal clarity.
