Alessandro Becchi “Toscanolla” dining chairs for Giovannetti, brown ashwood and straw, Italy, 1970, set of six.
This rare “Toscanolla” dining chair was designed by Becchi for Giovannetti in 1970. Often misspelled as “Toscanella”, the “Toscanolla” chairs are characterized by cone-shaped legs that create a bulky, solid wooden structure, but still sophisticated thanks to the curved straw backrest. A unique and refined design that recalls iconic comfortable Italian country chairs, such as the Vico Magistretti “Carimate”. Harmonious and elegant, the brown ashwood variant offers a warm contrast with the straw backrest, highlighting timeless Italian craftsmanship. Each chair is marked with the designer and manufacturer logo.
