Alessandro Becchi “Toscanolla” dining chairs for Giovannetti, black ashwood and straw, Italy, 1970, set of ten.
This rare “Toscanolla” dining chair was designed by Becchi for Giovannetti in 1970. Often misspelled as “Toscanella”, the “Toscanolla” chairs are characterized by cone-shaped legs that create a bulky, solid wooden structure, but still sophisticated thanks to the curved straw backrest. A unique and refined design that recalls iconic comfortable Italian country chairs, such as the Vico Magistretti “Carimate”. The ebonized finish emphasizes the chair’s architectural presence with its impeccable surface, giving it a more sophisticated and contemporary character. Each chair is marked with the designer and manufacturer logo.
