Primitive Monumental Ritual Wooden Throne, Italy, 1990s.
The back of this throne is open between wooden dowels set like the rungs of a ladder, so light passes through the structure. The seat is a single thick slab with a softly shaped edge, supported by carved legs. A signature is cut into one of the legs. The pale, weathered wood shows a soft grey-brown tone. It is the most compact of the group, with a quiet, symbolic character.
