Primitive Monumental Gestural Wooden Throne, Italy, 1990s.

This throne has a long back that sweeps in a smooth curve, ending in a small arrowhead crest. Seen from the side, the back reads as one continuous line, thin and elegant. From the front, it widens into a tapered shield with a tall slot at the centre. The seat is a low, solid board with a keyhole-shaped inlay on the base. The movement of the form feels almost drawn in wood.
