Primitive Monumental Archaic Wooden Throne, Italy, 1990s
Dimensions
Primitive Monumental Archaic Wooden Throne, Italy, 1990s.
A round disc crest sits above planks laid in a chevron pattern, like a stack of arrows pointing upward. The carved signature and date appear on the leg, and a stepped notch is cut into the front of the base. The seat has a gently dished, hand-shaped surface. It is the deepest throne of the group, with a long, stable footprint. The back is set with a small round hole and a side edge cut in a serrated profile.
