Pierre Cardin dining chairs, black leather, France, 1970, set of six.
Designed by Pierre Cardin in 1970s France, this set of dining chairs captures the era's bold, architectural approach to form. Black-stained wood frames a sculptural profile, defined by the signature split backrest and turned connecting dowels, while the black leather seat adds a sharp, graphic contrast. With their assertive geometry and fashion-forward presence, they sit comfortably alongside the radical French atmosphere of the decade—think Roger Tallon and Olivier Mourgue—while also echoing the material confidence of Italian contemporaries such as Mario Bellini and Afra & Tobia Scarpa.
The set can be split. The dining chairs can be sold singularly.
