Designed in the 1970s by Oscar Torlasco for Lumi, this floor-to-ceiling tension pole lamp is structured around a vertical brass stem that extends between floor and ceiling, organizing light along a single axis.
Three adjustable light heads project from the shaft, each composed of a brushed brass cone topped with a turned wooden finial. The material contrast between polished metal and dark wood gives the piece depth, while the articulated joints allow the light to be directed with precision.
Active from the 1950s onward, Torlasco developed a recognizable vocabulary within Italian lighting, working in parallel with the technical experimentation seen in the production of Gino Sarfatti and the broader Milanese scene. His designs are distinguished by careful detailing and a clear understanding of how structure and light interact.
