Minimalist Wooden Sculpture, Italy, 1990s.

A tapering, pale wooden stele rises from a dark, stepped plinth, its surface glowing in soft shades of cream and honey. Two motifs painted in red mark its height: a stepped, interlocking form near the top, and a rounded, tree-like shape below it, set like heraldic signs against the light grain. A dark half disc, applied near the base, adds a quiet counterpoint, and the grain, knots and soft sheen of the wood give the piece a gentle, tactile warmth. The edges are slightly rounded, which makes the stele pleasant to the eye from every side. A small inscription is carved on the side, near the base.
