This pair of daybeds, in the style of Paolo Buffa, reflects the refined balance characteristic of Milanese design in the 1940s. The structure is formed by two inclined solid wood sides with a warm finish, set on tapered legs. The long upholstered mattress sits neatly within the frame and is paired with two cylindrical bolsters, softening the geometry without interrupting its order. The proportions recall Paolo Buffa's approach to seating throughout his career: the wooden sides frame the seat with clarity, while the slight inclination introduces movement to an otherwise composed silhouette. This treatment of line and volume is characteristic of Buffa's broader production in the period, where tradition and modern restraint coexist, and situates the daybeds within the vocabulary the designer developed across his Milanese output of the decade.
