Originally designed in 1925 for the Taliesin residence in Wisconsin, this dining table embodies Frank Lloyd Wright’s vision of furniture as an extension of architecture. Reproduced by Cassina within the celebrated I Maestri collection, the model follows Wright’s original drawings with rigorous fidelity.
The base is defined by four solid wood legs connected by vertical slats that rhythmically frame the shorter sides. A central beam reinforces the structure, while the interlocking elements reveal careful proportion and precise craftsmanship. The substantial base grounds the piece, balancing the essential geometry of the rectangular top.
Frank Lloyd Wright (1867–1959) developed a cohesive philosophy of design rooted in organic principles, integrating structure, material, and space into a unified language. Beyond his architectural masterpieces, he conceived furnishings as integral components of the interior environment.
