The DS-28 Cosmos doesn’t sit in a room, it reshapes it.
Designed in 1970, this modular sofa is less about seating and more about occupation: a continuous, low-slung landscape that invites movement, conversation, and informal use.

Its rounded modules connect without hierarchy, dissolving the idea of front, back, or center. Curves replace angles, softness replaces structure, and the sofa becomes an environment rather than an object. It belongs to that moment when design turned inward, prioritizing bodily experience over visual discipline. A sensibility shared with the most radical seating experiments of the late 1960s and early 1970s.

The deep brown tone reinforces the sculptural quality of the design, enhancing the perception of volume and continuity. Lines are reduced to the essential, allowing the form to speak through mass, rhythm, and proportion rather than detail.

Founded on an uncompromising approach to material and form, De Sede used the DS-28 Cosmos to push modular design toward something more fluid and instinctive.
