Alberto Rosselli "Confidential" living room set for Saporiti, black leather, Italy, 1972, set of three.

Designed in 1972 for Saporiti, the "Confidential" series stands among the earliest modular seating systems to unite technological experimentation with a soft, sculptural presence. This living room set — comprising a sofa and two armchairs — is defined by deep cushioning, rounded volumes, and the distinctive wrapping structure that articulates the junction between seat and backrest, almost like interlocking architectural planes.
Rosselli's refined approach to rhythm and proportion is legible throughout: repetition functions as a design language, and the leather upholstery reinforces the ensemble's quiet coherence. As co-founder of Studio Ponti-Fornaroli-Rosselli and an early advocate of ergonomics in Italian industrial design, Rosselli consistently explored how furniture could respond to the human body while maintaining strong architectural clarity. The "Confidential" series embodies this duality — intimate yet modular, engineered yet sensuous.
Placed within the broader landscape of early 1970s Italian design — alongside the experimentation of Mario Bellini, Cini Boeri, and Giotto Stoppino — this living room set represents one of Saporiti's most forward-looking contributions to the era's search for new domestic typologies.

The set can be split. The pieces can be sold singularly.
