Ignazio Gardella “LT6” floor lamp for Azucena, brass, glass and marble, Italy, 1950.
Designed for Azucena in 1950s, this “LT6” floor lamp recalls the modernist aesthetics and formal elegance of Gadella’s architectural approach.
A slim lengthed brass structure sustains a molded glass diffuser, consisting of an overlapping half sphere and oval bottom part. This unique lampshade creates suggestive light effects when switched on. This elongated frame contrasts with the lamp base - a rounded bottom support in black Marquinia marble that gives solidity to the whole structure and further enriches the design.
